TRAIL CONDITIONS

Ski Trail Conditions are posted by Gimli Cross Country Ski Club weekly. Our trails are usually groomed by our volunteers on Saturday mornings and/or during holidays. For the most up-to-date information, check our website frequently.

EAST SIDE TRAILS

4 Access points:

– South parking lot on east side of Hwy 222, approx 3 1/2 miles north of Gimli.  Note:  We are still waiting for MB Parks to clear the main parking area north of the warming shack this season.  Please call MB Parks to let them know if lot is not cleared when you arrive.

– McElheran Rd, the first road north of south parking lot

– North parking lot near mailboxes just south of Camp Morton Rd.

– Camp Morton Rd by the park gate (multipurpose trail access to the north, ski trail access to the south crossing the bridge).

Camp Morton North Park (shared use – by foot, snowshoe, dog walking, fat bike, skate ski, skijor, dogsled) – Good Mar 5, 2023  (Groomed Mar 4, 2023)

WEST SIDE TRAILS

Turn west off Hwy 222, 3 miles north of Gimli at Lakeside Rd. (Opposite Aurora Centre).  Parking lot entrance first right on Lakeside Rd.

Jackrabbit (Classic, double track) – Good Mar 5, 2023  (Groomed Mar 3, 2023)

Foxden (Classic and skate) – Good Mar 5, 2023 (Classic groomed Mar 3, 2023, Skate groomed Mar 3, 2023)

Pincherry (Classic and skate) – Good Mar 5, 2023 (Classic groomed Mar 3, 2023, Skate groomed Mar 3, 2023) NOTE: (New Feb 7, 2023) Alternate tracked route along driveway for the last 100 meters, due to unusual water flow and frozen culverts causing flooding at creek crossing near trail head.

Shared Use Trail beside kiosk (by foot, snowshoe, dog walking, fat bike, skate ski, skijor, dogsled) – Good Mar 5, 2023. (Groomed Mar 3, 2023)

Snowshoe Trail (Creek bed) – Creek bed is currently frozen and usable once again as long as ice is thick enough and no slush or water flow is visible.  This winter it has been vulnerable to flooding from unusual water flow and frozen culverts (Mar 3, 2023).  Alternative – Snowshoe on the high banks along the creek.
